Southwater Library hosts a “Meet the Author” on Saturday, 27 April, for ‘Spring into St. George’s Day’ celebrations
The event is a family friendly one, with authors from an exciting range of literature genres taking part - from thrillers, sci-fi, crime to romance, illustration, historical non-fiction and many more.
Julie Phillips (the writer of several historical non-fiction books, most recently ‘Birmingham At War 1939-45’ and columnist for writing magazine), A.J Griffiths Jones (a historical crime author and past winner of the ‘Jack the Ripper Book of the Year Award’), Lisa Jade (science fiction author, with "Rain on Neptune” as latest novel), and Victorina Press, are among the 17 well-known local authors who will be at Southwater One for book signings and Q & A sessions.
To "Meet the author”, just come along to Southwater Library, between 10 am and 2 pm – no booking is needed.

Julie Phillips, organiser of the "Meet the Author” said: "This is a really exciting event that gives me and other local writers the opportunity to meet and chat with our readers and that’s always an invaluable experience that inspires us in our future work.
"We would like to thank Telford & Wrekin Libraries for continuously supporting us and for providing the venue for our book signings and interaction with the public.”
To add even more to the family entertainment, the award winning poet Jonny Fluffypunk will be sharing some of his fabulous poetry also on the same day in Southwater.
Andrew Woodall, Library Service and Digital Inclusion Manager for Southwater Library said: "We are delighted to host these family favourite events to support ‘Spring into St. George’s Day’ celebrations in the nearby Town Park.
"Our previous "Meet the author’ event and poetry sessions have proved really popular and we aim to continue those to encourage wider reading but also to support our local authors in promoting their work.”
‘Spring into St George's Day’ is a free event in Telford Town Park on 27 April, to celebrate St George’s Day with activities and entertainment for all of the family.
